Free Contest for White Water Rafting

Perth and Kinross

Rafting starts in early spring and runs throughout the summer and on into late autumn. In Scotland the main rafting seasons are spring and autumn when the white water is at its peak, in Wales selected Sundays Feb to October. Weekend dates fill quickly - book six to eight weeks in advance.

Participant Guidelines

Minimum age varies from 10 to 14. A weight limit may apply depending on venue. Most venues require your ability to swim and all venues state you must be confident in water. Venues may test your fitness. Please advise us in advance of any disabilities.

Rafting will go ahead in most conditions but may be affected by extreme weather conditions or flooding if the rivers are too swollen.

Your session will last for approximately two hours. Allow for time afterwards to shower and change.

Numbers On Day

Your raft will hold between six and eight people, plus a qualified instructor.

Spectators are welcome. They'll be able to see varying amounts of the experience, depending on the location. A camera will come in handy.

Dress Code

Bring swimwear, a towel, a pair of old trainers, a dry change of clothes and a wetsuit if you have one. Buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided. If you wear glasses, remove or firmly secure them.

Other Info

At the purpose-built course rafting is occasionally cancelled at short notice due to local authority water release systems. We'll advise you to contact the venue a few days before your booked date, if appropriate, to double-check water levels.
